Brawlers, get ready for an epic update that takes our Web3 gaming experience to new heights! Brawlers version 1.6.0 brings game-changing improvements inspired by your invaluable feedback.

Buckle up and get ready to rumble!

MMR Climbing Competition Reloaded

Mark your calendars for April 26th at 10 AM PDT when the MMR leaderboards will reset, kicking off our latest PvP showdown. The top 25 players on the final leaderboard will share a massive prize pool of 1,000,000 $BRWL tokens after the competition concludes on June 7th at 5 PM PDT. To boost engagement, players must play at least one game in Room 2 daily (0:00 UTC to 23:59 UTC) or face a 25-point deduction as voted on by the community. Turtling is a risky business!

New Elevated Player Experience:

  • Valid Loadout Requirement: Choose an in-game name for a valid loadout. Generic or blank names are a thing of the past. You cannot play in the competition without a valid name.
  • Brawling windows disabled for increased playability.
  • Extended Queue Timer: Room 2 queue timer increased from 90 seconds to 10 minutes.
  • Resolution Scaling: Run the game in “HIGH,” “MEDIUM,” or “LOW” resolution based on your machine’s capabilities. The sharpness of in-game graphics, particularly cards, is clear.
  • Matchmaking Server Relocation: Moved from “Central Europe” to “US East” for faster global connectivity and reduced mid-match crashes.
  • Ping Indicator: Color-coded for good/average/poor connectivity. Stay in the green or yellow for optimal performance.
  • Beamable Upgrade: The latest backend service version promises enhanced stability and microservices.

Aesthetic Overhaul:

  • Dark Mode: The Brawlers ring gets a moody visual update.
  • New Splash Screen: Brawler Bay’s gritty exterior takes center stage.
  • 2-Year Anniversary Card Fronts and Backs: Celebrate our milestone with special 1 BRWL purchases in the Shop on play.brawlers.gg

Game Design Evolution:

  • Power Meter Adjustment: Losing a hand halves your power meter (rounded up for odd numbers) instead of resetting to 1, greatly increasing damage potential.
  • Starting Health Boost: Both players now start with 35 health points to compensate for the power meter change, encouraging more Showdowns!
  • Staying True to Origins: This change aligns with Richard Garfield’s original design intent for loss consequences.
  • While we think the above changes make it harder to successfully FLEX (as more hands will get called) we are moving the likelihood of successful Flexing to the start of the game by reducing the number of starting cards from 3 to 2. We think this will give players more strategic choices in the beginning and make the start of the game more interesting.

Bonus Updates:

  • Taco Swap Liquidity Pool Extended: Stake WAXP and BRWL for a share of the daily 500 WAXP drip until the end of this period (45,000 WAXP total).
  • Brawl 4 All Comps: Weekly events with a minimum of 12 legit players, where the top 25% win BRWL rewards.

Coming Soon: More improved queueing, anniversary banners along with in-game HUD avatars and frames, and our relentless pursuit of a mobile solution. Exciting times are ahead, including a potential new contender joining the Brawlerverse!
