This guide provides comprehensive insights into the early implementation of the “Perform” feature in Music Mogul. The concept is straightforward: various venues, shows, festivals and special occasions worldwide require musical guests for a myriad of reasons. As a mogul, you’ll navigate through a diverse range of engagements, from “Local Club” performances suitable for common Artist NFTs to “Private Shows” with your legendary Stadium Superstar NFTs.

CNOTES

In the game’s future, your label will initiate most tours, covering travel costs, road meals, and other expenses through a one-time, event-specific payment in CNOTES, one of the two in-game fungible tokens. The second token, CRED, is earned upon successful completion of Performances.

Players acquire CNOTES by securing a song placement in the weekly Top 500 streaming chart, a topic to be explored in another article. However, at launch, if players find themselves without CNOTES, they can obtain CRED through “Farewell Tours.”

In a “Farewell Tour,” players can choose to exchange an artist NFT (Common, Uncommon, or Rare) for CRED without any waiting period. The amount of CRED earned varies based on the rarity of the burned artist:

  • Common Artist burned on a Farewell Tour = 3 CRED
  • Uncommon Artist burned on a Farewell Tour = 6 CRED
  • Rare Artist burned on a Farewell Tour = 18 CRED

These values are strategically designed to encourage burning Common NFT artists due to their higher availability. Farewell Tours gigs will always be available and will not cycle like a normal Performance slot.

Once you obtain CNOTES to initiate Performances, you’ll discover that Common and Uncommon tours may not be the most efficient use of your time. Instead, the Rare NFT artist Performances offer intriguing possibilities, with Epic and Legendary options serving as potential game-changers. Below you will find a detailed list of performance options, their costs, yields, completion times, and the minimum required artist rarity.

Launch Day

At launch, there will not be any genre restrictions on these performances; any artist can participate in any performance as long as they meet the rarity requirement for that performance. However, these restrictions are planned, along with a 7-day cooldown period as your artist recovers from their gig. The more artists per rarity and genre a player possesses will give them considerably more options.

Each performance slot will show randomized costs, timers, and payouts tied to its rarity. The odds of seeing a specific rarity of Performance slot are:

  • Common Performance — 65%
  • Uncommon Performance — 20%
  • Rare Performance — 10%
  • Epic Performance — 4%
  • Legendary Performance — 1%

Players can enhance their experience by adding permanent slots to their account and expanding up to 60 slots on Day 1 if they choose, with plans to increase this total number in the future. The guide acknowledges the intentional challenge for lesser-engaged players during the early game phase and emphasizes the opportunity for players with at least 10 artist NFTs to make strategic sacrifices for early CRED/CNOTE rewards.

CRED

Recording a track costs a minimum of 25 CRED, ensuring that players cannot fail in the recording process as long as they meet the cost requirement and have an artist to place in the booth. Successful tracks can be entered into the weekly streaming competition, potentially earning players a spot in the Top 500 and additional CNOTES.
